About This Position
About the Role
Working within the Cougars Athletics and Recreation department, these are flexible positions whose work schedule is variable and may include an irregular schedule of not less than three (3) hours per shift and up to thirty-five (35) hours per week. These positions will end March 31, 2027.
The Game Day Video Board Operator will be a member of the Cougar Athletics Varsity Game Day Events Team. The position will be for the duration of the sport season for either basketball, soccer or volleyball. The Video Board Operator is responsible for timely updating of the video board as in-game as action occurs and ensuring sponsor advertising requirements are met. The position requires assisting with the set-up and tear down of equipment, troubleshooting any problems that arise, and assisting in meeting league requirements.
Responsibilities
Set-up, test and use various gameday technology; troubleshoot as required
Oversee in-game updates of statistics, sponsor advertisements, and fan entertainment to the video board appropriate to the action occurring in the game Development of content for the video board as directed Collaborate with officials and other team members to ensure the board is appropriately updated in a timely manner Communicate clearly and effectively with officials, coaches and team staff Adapt and help the game day team where needed as required by Game Day Supervisor Ensure all requirements and regulations set-out by Canada West and U SPORTS are followed Ensure equipment is well maintained and stored properly following each event.
Qualifications
6 - 12 months of related experience Knowledge of the sports of basketball, soccer and/or volleyball Ability to work all shifts between Thursday - Sunday afternoons and evenings Highly motivated individual who can work well independently and under pressure Clear and consistent verbal communication skills Strong focus and attention to detail Commitment to time management and punctuality Ability to lift items of up to 50lbs on an occasional basis Must be able to work independently and with a team with minimal supervision
Salary: $21.87 - $27.61 per hour
