Position: Precision & Optimization Consultant
In this role you will help Horizon Ag & Turf’s clients grow solutions for the future. The world of agriculture is constantly advancing, and the Precision Technology division drives the understanding and utilization of new and existing technologies from John Deere and other ag business providers.
In the role of Precision & Optimization Specialist, you will be responsible for working closely with customers in a territory to drive productivity and profitability gains from equipment and technology.
Performance Expectations:
- Develop and grow customer relationships within the assigned territory to be able to support them in finding solutions for improved efficiency and profitability.
- Stay on the leading edge of training for John Deere’s equipment and technology solutions to be able to support the responsible branches and territories with technical questions. This may also include third-party solutions as required.
- Complete professional and thorough equipment and technology optimizations and demos for customers.
- Work with customers and sales staff as a technical specialist to help sell and support large ag equipment, precision ag hardware, software, data and technology services, precision upgrades, and weather station solutions.
- Support internal (staff) and external (customer) training initiatives, or other projects as requested.
Key Capabilities and Success Factors:
- Understanding of the Agriculture industry and experience working with Large Ag and Precision equipment.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to learn and master new equipment and technology features rapidly.
- Strong with computers and mobile devices.
- Ability and willingness to work flexible hours and travel based on the needs of the season.
- Valid drivers license and passport.
