Join our Group Benefits Technology team! Are you a driven individual with experience in leading squad(s) and passionate in mentoring hands-on teams? Let's explore a partnership! Position Responsibilities: Lead a team of technology Software Engineers, Quality Engineers, Technical Analysts, and IT Business Analysts across multi-squad, regulatory, or other cross-cutting initiatives. Driving technical strategy and roadmaps, reviewing system designs, and conducting code reviews to ensure quality, scalability, and security. Must maintain strong technical expertise and hands-on when required to deliver and meet requirements. Setting team priorities, managing project timelines, removing blockers, and coordinating with product managers to deliver on important metrics and objectives and key results. Bridging goals between the team and senior leadership, streamlining and improving engineering workflows, and strengthening cross-team, cross-region collaboration. Mentor your team to continuously develop and grow technical and non-technical skills through mentorship, training and providing opportunities within the program. Foster team engagement and build an impactful team. Performance management including (but not limited to) clear expectation setting, tactical and stretch goal setting, performance evaluations and development strategies. Embrace and champion change as the company continues to evolve with technology to stay ahead of trends and leading the way. Recruitment and onboarding for technology team members. On-call production support to resolve technical issues and concerns. Required Qualifications: Demonstrated ability and experience within a technology leadership role. Strong technical/development skills/hands on code review. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to manage and lead multiple initiatives across multiple teams. Responds well to ambiguity and works efficiently to clarify situations and outcomes. Experience implementing in cloud infrastructure (Azure preferably). Expert level in languages such as .NET, Java, Javascript, and similar technologies. Database such as SQL, PostgreSQL or similar databases. Experience with agile and DevOps principles, test-driven development, continuous integration, and other approaches Collaborative approach to work with team members; able to mentor, participate in code reviews, support or drive design sessions. Constantly learns from both success and failure. Excellent problem-solving skills that enable you to manage through creative abrasion. Referenced Salary Location Waterloo, Ontario Working Arrangement Hybrid Salary range is expected to be between $113,000.00 CAD - $163,000.00 CAD Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
