About The Role We are seeking a highly skilled UI Developer with expertise in React to join our team on a 6-month contract basis, with strong potential for extension. This role is based in Toronto with a hybrid work model requiring 1-2 days per week onsite at FCP. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining sophisticated front-end applications tailored for capital markets and financial trading environments. You will collaborate closely with product owners, UX/UI designers, and backend teams to create seamless, intuitive interfaces that facilitate real-time market data visualization, trading workflows, and actionable insights. Your work will directly impact the efficiency and performance of trading platforms, ensuring they meet high standards of reliability, scalability, and user experience.
Qualifications Technical Strengths
- Deep expertise with React.js and core JavaScript fundamentals, including ES6+ features.
- Strong experience with modern front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and state management libraries like Redux, MobX, or Zustand.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, asynchronous data handling, and version control systems such as Git.
- Proven ability to architect scalable and maintainable front-end solutions tailored for high-performance environments.
Experience
- Between 5 to 8+ years of professional experience in front-end development.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Must have experience working within financial services, capital markets, or developing order management systems (OMS) in any asset class.
- Nice-to-have: familiarity with trading platforms, financial data visualization, or related financial technology tools.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with an attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to mentor junior developers and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and enhance modern front-end applications using React, Redux (or similar), and JavaScript (ES6+), ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
- Collaborate with product owners, UX/UI designers, and backend developers to translate complex trading workflows into clean, intuitive interfaces.
- Integrate front-end components with backend APIs to display real-time market data, order flows, and actionable insights efficiently.
- Write clean, scalable, and well-tested code that adheres to best practices and coding standards suitable for high-performance trading environments.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues promptly, optimizing platform performance and stability.
