About the role

About the role

Harbour Air's Ground Services and Operations Coordination Centre (OCC) run on clear procedures and well-trained people. This role is where that happens. As Operations Advisor, Training & Standards, you'll build and maintain the SOPs, manuals, and training programs that keep our ground teams safe, consistent, and ready for whatever the day brings.

You'll work directly with operational staff and subject matter experts across our bases — turning real-world know-how into documentation and training that's accurate, practical, and actually gets used.

What you'll do

  • Develop, review, and maintain SOPs, manuals, policies, and guidance material for Ground Operations and the OCC.
  • Design and coordinate initial and recurrent training programs for Ground Services and OCC personnel.
  • Build training materials, job aids, assessments, and competency standards that support employee development.
  • Keep a version-controlled library of operational documentation and training records.
  • Ensure documentation and training meet aviation regulations, company policy, and industry best practices.
  • Support quality assurance, change management, and continuous improvement across procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate with Base Managers, the OCC Manager, and frontline staff to roll out new procedures and system changes.
  • Support onboarding of new Ground Services and OCC staff by delivering or coordinating role-specific training.

What you bring

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in ground operations, OCC, aviation dispatch, or a related operational environment.
  • Experience developing operational procedures, manuals, or training programs is an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in aviation, operations management, or a related field is an asset.
  • Strong written communication skills — you can turn complex operational detail into clear, accurate documentation.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and deadlines across departments.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint) and document management systems.
  • Experience facilitating training or presenting to operational staff is an asset.
  • Dangerous Goods Certificate (or willingness to obtain); First Aid CPR/AED Level C is an asset.

Why this role

You'll have real ownership over how Ground Services and the OCC train and operate — with the chance to shape standards across every Harbour Air base. Some travel to other operating locations may be required, and you'll spend time on the dock and operational floor to make sure documentation reflects how the work actually gets done.
