Bring your technical expertise and passion for student success to a role that bridges innovation, engagement, and impact. Join us in supporting the MyExperience Transcript (MET) initiative— a platform that empowers students to highlight their achievements and thrive beyond the classroom. The University of Lethbridge is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our Career Bridge team. This is a full-time limited term position.

The MyExperience Technical and Engagement Assistant plays a key role in shaping the student experience at the University of Lethbridge by supporting the innovative MyExperience Transcript (MET) initiative and its ORBIS platform. This is an exciting opportunity to combine technical know-how with creativity and collaboration. In this role, you’ll work closely with the Assistant Dean and MET Advisor to ensure the platform runs seamlessly, while actively engaging with students, faculty, and community partners to maximize the impact of experiential learning. From maintaining and optimizing the student dashboard to coordinating outreach events and delivering engaging presentations, you’ll be at the forefront of promoting a tool that empowers students to showcase their skills and achievements. You’ll provide essential technical support, troubleshoot challenges and help create solutions that improve usability and accessibility. This position is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about making a tangible difference in students’ academic and career journeys.

Responsibilities within this role will include:

  • Champion the MyExperience (ORBIS) platform by managing user access, optimizing system configurations, refreshing content, and keeping the student dashboard intuitive and engaging.
  • Build meaningful connections with internal and external partners by coordinating meetings, gathering actionable feedback, and ensuring smooth communication across faculties, departments, and community organizations.
  • Drive awareness and engagement by creating and delivering compelling presentations, organizing impactful events, and producing dynamic outreach materials that showcase the value of the MyExperience platform and Transcript.
  • Serve as a problem-solver and innovator, providing timely technical and administrative support, identifying trends, and escalating complex issues with clear documentation—while exploring user-friendly solutions to enhance functionality.
  • Empower student success by managing appointment scheduling, providing first-line support for inquiries, and curating resources that help students reflect, assess competencies and achieve their goals.

Please note a strong internal candidate will be applying for this position.

Position Qualifications

The ideal candidate will bring a combination of education, experience, and enthusiasm that reflects both technical expertise and a passion for enhancing the student experience. A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in a related field, paired with one to three years of relevant experience, provides a strong foundation for success in this role. We’re looking for someone who thrives in a technology-driven environment, with a solid understanding of relational databases and the ability to quickly learn new systems. Clear, confident communication—both written and verbal—is essential, as you will be working closely with students, faculty, and external partners to deliver exceptional service and support.

Beyond the basics, we’re excited about candidates who bring a forward-thinking approach and a commitment to innovation. A background in experiential learning, knowledge of post-secondary environments, or experience with platforms like ORBIS will set you apart. If you’re highly organized, adaptable, and motivated to troubleshoot challenges while improving processes, you’ll excel in this dynamic, collaborative environment. Strong presentation skills, creative problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to manage multiple priorities will help you make an immediate impact in supporting the growth and success of the MyExperience Transcript initiative.
