Customs Import Analyst

Frontier Supply Chain Solutions Inc. is a medium sized provider of US and Canadian Customs Services, Trade Consulting, Supply Chain Logistics, including parcel and courier delivery. Our Winnipeg facility located in the Fort Garry Industrial Park has an opportunity for Customs Import Analyst. The successful candidate would be responsible for overseeing customs transactions and customer service activities for a diverse client portfolio. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to ensure work is completed accurately and on time. You must be comfortable learning new systems, supporting team processes, and reviewing work to maintain high standards of quality and compliance.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily customs operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing and release of shipments across all transportation modes in compliance with regulatory requirements, including coordination with the Canada Border Services Agency.
  • Lead documentation review and compliance activities, including tariff classification, application of trade agreements, and resolution of discrepancies or customs holds.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, carriers and government agencies, managing communication, resolving complex issues, and maintaining high service standards.
  • Monitor workflow, shipment status, and exception reporting, driving timely resolution of delays, rejects, and operational challenges.
  • Ensure quality assurance across all entries, including auditing, billing accuracy, and adherence to internal processes and regulator standards.
  • Provide leadership and support to the team through training, mentorship, and guidance, while stepping into a supervisory role in the manager’s absence.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and special project aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and service delivery.

Competencies & Skill sets needed:

  • Minimum of 2 year of industry experience.
  • Successful completion of CSCB Certified Customs Specialist Program.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the ability to provide direction, foster team development and effectively manage priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Above average skill in Microsoft Outlook. Inbox and folder management.
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills an asset.
  • Post-secondary education in Supply Chain Management or International Business an asset.
