About the role
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a rigorous maintenance and upkeep program for the high-performance and efficient operation of the sorting center's equipment and systems.
- Work with the Operations team to ensure operational parameters are met, such as efficiency, setup time, and reliability.
- Provide technical support (related to reliability / maintenance services) for all production equipment throughout the facility.
- Optimize costs through effective budget planning and management. Identify and implement cost reduction ideas for facility maintenance.
- Oversee the parts and inventory department and ensure all parts/supplies are inventoried for quick and efficient access.
- Plan major work with contractors to ensure services provided to the facility meet operational and business needs.
- Responsible for a team of technicians, including recruitment, performance management, training, coaching, discipline, and career development.
- Promote health and safety, accountability, integrity, and diligence through demonstrated behaviors and open communication at all levels.
- Negotiate with vendors and seek alternative suppliers as needed. Propose improvements to the current purchasing system to enhance supplier relationships and reduce the cost of business.
- Evaluate daily reports on downtime and deficiencies for system troubleshooting and maintenance planning.
- Meet regularly with sorting center managers to discuss maintenance issues, operational changes, and the progress of preventive maintenance, expenditures, and future projects.

Requirements
- Degree/Licensing requirements
- Specific system/technology requirements
- Training and/or experience as an industrial millwright or industrial electrician or related to at least 5 years of experience with industrial maintenance supervision and management; OR bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or related field with at least 5 years of experience in industrial maintenance supervision and management.
- Minimum of 5 years of supervision and people management experience with significant hands-on experience leading maintenance teams.
- A significant track record of achievements in continuous improvement and reduction of breakdowns and downtime.
- Excellent project management, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to create a culture of workplace health and safety, accountability, and teamwork.
