About the role:
The Nanometrics Quality Assurance team is looking for a skilled Quality Control Technician, who will be heavily involved in assessing quality of incoming materials by assisting in establishing and executing material inspections. This role demands a detail-oriented individual dedicated to continuous improvement who has experience working within a Quality Management System. We are looking for a talented individual who is hands-on, self driven, motivated, and demonstrates a desire to improve quality within manufacturing. This role is critical to maintaining the highest level of quality of our products.
Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of incoming materials, components, and products for defects or deviations from specifications .
- Verify the accuracy of documentation, including Certificates of Conformance and packing slips.
- Conduct First Article Inspections.
- Use precision measuring tools and equipment to perform dimensional and visual inspections.
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate records, with strict adherence to the Quality Policy and System.
- Identify and report non-conforming materials to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in maintaining the calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment.
- Collaborate with suppliers, procurement and quality assurance teams to resolve issues related to incoming materials.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, regulations, and company procedures.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality control processes.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
What You Bring
- College diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- 5+ years experience in quality control or incoming inspection in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of inspection techniques and procedures.
- Proficiency in using precision measuring tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Good communication and documentation skills.
- Proficient with Google Suite, MS Excel, and basic statistical analysis.
Assets
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound judgments.
- Physical ability to lift and handle heavy materials, as needed.
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Visual acuity necessary for detailed inspection work.
- Manual dexterity for handling small parts and operating measurement equipment.
- Experience with JIRA.
