##Responsibilities

This posting is for the Fall 2026 – Spring 2027 academic year.

Guest Registration staff are responsible for supporting Housing’s Visitor Policy, by ensuring the students entering Western’s main campus residences are registered residence students and registered guests. When guests are permitted, Guest Registration staff are responsible for the registration of overnight and weekend guests. Guest Registration Staff will regularly review residence trespass lists and contact Front Desk Staff, Residence Life Staff and/or Western Special Constables should a problem arise. Frequent interactions with students, guests, and parents are a key component in tracking the occupancy and capacity numbers for the building in accordance with Housing’s Guest Registration Policy.

Qualifications:

***Required training will be in-person August 24 and 25 9a-5p. Regular working schedule will start September 5.***Hours of work are typically Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings from 8pm-3am.Applicants must be available to work special event dates (such as Orientation Week, Homecoming, Halloween, and St. Patrick’s Day).

Applicants must have a strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows and possess a general understanding of all Microsoft Office products. Applicants must have good customer service skills, and be fluent in both written and spoken English.

Education:

  • Secondary School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of post-secondary education is preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum 1 year customer service experience is required

Skills, Abilities & Expertise:

  • Reliable, dependable and the ability to consistently work weekends and overnight shifts, hours are typically 8pm-3am Thursday, Friday, Saturday nights
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and an ability to express ideas clearly
  • Must have a strong knowledge of working in a Windows based environment
  • Strong customer service skills and an ability to deal with difficult people
  • Ability to maintain a positive, outgoing attitude with genuine customer service orientation
  • Ability to follow processes and practices with high attention to detail
  • Good computer skills; strong aptitude in learning new software
  • Demonstrates integrity and works in accordance with Western's policies and procedures
  • Personable and courteous in working relationships with colleagues, students and the public
  • Ability to prioritize and organize a fluctuating work load
  • Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team to achieve department goals
  • Ability to work in a manner that is compliant with confidentiality requirements as applicable
