Nelson - House Advisor -Community Disability Practitioner.
Position Title: CDP – House Advisor
Schedule: Tuesday to Thursday: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM, Friday to Saturday: 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM (Flexibility Required)
Hours: 40 hours/week (20 hours direct client care, 20 hours administrative duties)
Location: Calgary NW
Employment Type: Permanent
Start Date: ASAP
Role & Responsibility
As a House Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting clients to live life to the fullest in a group home setting. This dual-role position combines frontline care with leadership and administrative responsibilities. You will act as a liaison between CDP staff and team leaders, ensuring smooth daily operations, compliance with licensing standards, and effective client support.
- Provide direct care and support to clients with complex needs.
- Manage staff schedules and delegate duties to meet operational standards.
- Support the development and implementation of individualized client support plans.
- Orient and mentor new frontline staff.
- Foster a culture of high performance through coaching and leadership.
- Ensure compliance with NAS policies, health and safety protocols, and CET standards.
- Assist with safe disposal of biohazards and maintain universal precautions.
- Specific diagnoses this position will be working with: FASD, Borderline Personality, ADHD, Addiction, Complex Trauma, Developmental Disabilities, Schizophrenia, A.D.H.D, Mood Disorder’s
Non-Negotiable Requirement:
- Must be able to drive clients (Valid license + 2M liability insurance required)
- Naloxone training (mandatory)
- Use of PPE and universal precautions
- Comfort with biohazard exposure (e.g., illicit substances, drug paraphernalia)
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience with FASD, Harm Reduction, Trauma-Informed Care
- Knowledge of A.P.R.P, Positive Behavior Supports
- Indigenous Culture Awareness & Intercultural Training
- Vecova Medication Administration, CPI, Addiction Studies
- First Aid / CPR Certification
- Community Disability Practitioner background
