About the role

Reporting to the Controller, this role oversees core general ledger activities, prepares financial statements, supports audit requests, and ensures the accuracy and completeness of financial reporting across multiple entities and currencies. You bring strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a desire to further develop your technical accounting knowledge while working alongside a collaborative, high‑performing finance team. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

  • Complete full‑cycle month‑end close activities including preparing and posting journal entries, reviewing general ledger transactions, and ensuring accuracy across key balance sheet and income statement accounts.

  • Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules; analyze variances and provide insights to management regarding unusual trends or fluctuations.

  • Maintain and reconcile more complex balance sheet accounts such as inventory, fixed assets, deferred revenue, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, goods received not invoiced, and intercompany accounts across multiple currencies.

  • Support global payroll accounting by reviewing payroll journal entries, reconciling related GL accounts, validating statutory deductions, and ensuring payroll impacts are accurately reflected in the financials.

  • Contribute and prepare working papers for quarterly reviews and annual audits; respond to auditor inquiries and ensure all schedules and reconciliations align with audit standards.

  • Assist with indirect tax filings (GST/PST/HST, VAT, US State Sales Tax) and ensure timely submission of statutory remittances.

  • Prepare and review sales reporting, including monthly sales reconciliations, commissions calculations, and related adjustments.

  • Monitor inventory transactions and collaborate with Operations to ensure the accuracy of costing, COGS entries, freight allocations, and goods‑in‑transit accounts.

  • Support system improvements, process documentation, and internal control enhancements to strengthen data integrity and operational efficiency.

  • Review reconciliations prepared by junior team members and provide guidance where needed.

  • Working proficiency of AR, AP modules and procedures.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • Post‑secondary education in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation or CFE passer, graduate degree in Accounting, Finance program is considered an asset.

  • 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience, including demonstrated ownership of full‑cycle accounting responsibilities.

  • Solid understanding of multi-entity , multi‑currency environments, and financial statement preparation.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (SQL, Macro, data analysis tools such as Power BI).

  • Experience with ERP systems; experience with Syspro or similar ERP platforms is an asset.

  • Experience in a manufacturing, distribution, or multi‑entity environment is an asset.

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

  • Proactive, detail‑oriented mindset with the ability to prioritize, take initiative, and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.

The annual base salary for this job ranges from:

$75,000-84,000
