What does the Disinfection and Hygiene Account Specialist do?
The Disinfection and Hygiene Account Specialist is responsible for bridging scientific knowledge with practical applications in cleaning and disinfection. This role works closely with distribution partners and end users to support effective implementation. The individual must be comfortable engaging with a range of stakeholders, including C-suite executives, Health and Safety officers, Infection Prevention Practitioners, and frontline cleaning staff.
While the primary focus is disinfection, the Specialist will consider the entire cleaning and disinfection process, including the tools and mechanics required to help customers optimize their standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and tactics to expand existing business and generate new, profitable opportunities.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations to align R&D initiatives with go-to-market strategies.
- Oversee operations and business activities to ensure results are consistent with Charlotte’s Value Proposition.
- Drive profitable growth with distribution partners.
- Serve as the product line expert and brand representative for Process Cleaning Solutions (PCS), while also championing supporting products.
- Maintain strong customer and industry relationships across healthcare, elder care, hospitality, education, building service contractors (BSCs), day-care, and other relevant markets.
- Follow established Good Pharmacovigilance Practices (GVP) guidelines and SOPs for customer reporting, including reporting potential adverse drug reactions to the product manufacturer.
- Support Distributor Sales Representatives during sales calls, provide on-site or virtual demonstrations, and assist Charlotte Regional Sales Managers as required.
- Participate in industry events and speaking engagements when appropriate.
What do you need?
- Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent work experience.
- Bachelor of Science in Chemistry or Biology considered a strong asset.
- 5 years of leadership experience (direct or indirect).
- Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to identify opportunities and drive business results.
- Demonstrated ability to simplify and communicate technical concepts for diverse customer audiences.
- Proven track record of maintaining existing business, achieving profitable new business, and strengthening overall brand presence.
- Experience in enabling teams, shaping effective strategies, and driving the vision of a brand.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Track record of developing and implementing innovative business strategies to enhance a business.
- Experience selling through distribution channels.
- Leadership capabilities to build, mentor, and motivate a national team of experts to sell solutions.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Experience with modern sales and marketing techniques such as marketing automation and CRM.
- Experience related to infection control, chemistry, healthcare, cleaning, or facilities management would be considered an asset.
- French-English bilingualism would be considered an asset.
- Ability and willingness to travel within Canada for work. Our head office is located in Peterborough, ON, so frequent access to Peterborough would be required.
