The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is seeking an innovative and inspired support worker to build on the strength of a well-established organization. If you are interested in playing an important and supportive role in the lives of individuals, we would love to hear from you. We are looking for someone who is committed to working with people and sets a high standard in the promotion of health, choice, and community inclusion.
This position would include supporting the individuals we serve in all areas of their lives such as cooking, cleaning, hygiene routines, medication administration, community inclusion, and use of lifts, slings and wheelchairs. Training is provided for these tasks.
The Fort St. John Association for Community Living (FSJACL) is a non-profit agency, which has been providing quality supports to adults with developmental disabilities in the Fort St. John and District since 1960. The FSJACL is a CARF accredited agency with a trained, caring, and trusted professional staff team of over 80 employees who provide quality services and opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities. The FSJACL works collaboratively with community partners to achieve our vision of inclusion for all.
Shift: Rotating between days and evenings, weekdays and weekends based on individuals needs up to 37.5 hours per week – shifts can be topped up to 40 hours per week.
This is a BCGEU unionized position, grid level 10. ($25.95-$29.76/ hour, based on seniority or equivalent experience.)
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Class 4 Driver’s license must be to be obtained in the trial period of 3 months (must have a Class 5 Drivers license at time of application)
- Lifting & Transferring
- Seizure Management training
- Crisis Prevention Intervention
- Medication administration
Applicants should be aware that they will be dealing with varying degrees of individual needs and abilities.
