The University of Prince Edward Island has a vibrant conference and accommodations operation during the summer months, and we would like you to be part of it! From May through August, we open our doors to thousands of visitors from all around the world. Our Residences turn into a successful hotel operation, which provides accommodations and services for a wide variety of conferences, tourists, and sporting groups. We also offer meeting space to various groups from on- and off-campus. We strive to provide the best customer service to our clients, while proudly representing UPEI, Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island.
We are looking for energetic, customer service-oriented people to join our summer operations team. Student Guest Services Attendants will act as front-line customer service professionals, providing our guests with a great experience. You will be part of a larger team that knows how to have fun, work hard, take pride in their work, and provide exceptional customer service.
We are hiring up to 4 student positions for the Summer 2026 season. One position will befor exclusive night shifts(1 position available: 11 PM to 7 AM), and the remaining positions will be for day shifts (up to 3 positions available). Both roles will start in late April and continue through early September.

NOTES:
- Conference Services Student Staff are eligible for a discounted rate on summer accommodation at Blanchard Hall
- Conference Services Staff also receive a 20% discount at the UPEI Bookstore
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Hotel and Conference Operations, Guest Services Attendants will be responsible for:
- Greeting visitors and guests at the Front Desk, providing check-in and check-out assistance
- Offer guidance and support to guests and tourists, ensuring a positive experience
- Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately
- Maintain strong customer relations through effective communication and service
- Coordinate with other on-campus service providers (i.e., ITSS, Athletics, Facilities, Security) to ensure smooth operations
- Assist with the execution of conference events, providing support to the core Ancillary Services staff and Room Attendant teams as needed
- Provide box office support and usher guests for events at the Performing Arts Centre
- Perform various administrative tasks, including preparing key cards, inputting rooming lists, and other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be a current UPEI student
- Strong customer service experience, with a background in the tourism or hospitality industry preferred
- Positive, energetic, and courteous demeanor with excellent telephone etiquette and keen attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Familiarity with UPEI’s Residences, the University campus, Charlottetown, and Prince Edward Island
- Proficient with computers, including a working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and Windows
- Experience handling cash transactions accurately and responsibly
- Must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate ideas clearly
Bilingualism is not required but considered an asset
