Job Title: Technical Architect Location: Canada (REMOTE) Duration: 7+ Months Client: Public Sector
Job Description
Solaris Evergreening - Migrate Oracle databases from legacy Solaris infrastructure to supported platforms, upgrade Oracle where applicable, and decommission end-of-support Solaris systems. No application development is involved; the focus is on infrastructure and database migration.
Key Responsibilities
Design and document "as-is" solution architecture and prepare solution blueprints using MS Visio. Lead technical architecture assessments, reviews, and solution design for infrastructure modernization initiatives. Develop architecture documentation aligned with OPS Enterprise Architecture and Zachman Framework standards. Complete governance artifacts and ensure compliance with corporate architecture policies and best practices. Provide infrastructure architecture guidance (servers, networking, on-premises, and cloud environments). Support Solaris database migrations, Oracle database upgrades, and infrastructure provisioning. Collaborate with application owners, infrastructure teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
Required Skills
Strong OPS architecture and design experience (Mandatory). Expertise in technical architecture, solution design, and infrastructure modernization. Experience with MS Visio, architecture blueprints, and governance documentation. Knowledge of on-premises and cloud infrastructure. Strong analytical, communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
