The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) is the largest mental health and addiction teaching hospital in Canada, as well as one of the world's leading research centres in its field. Our services are delivered to help transform the lives of people affected by mental illness and addictions. Our goal is to tailor treatment to each individual, providing patient-centred, comprehensive, coordinated care.
The Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre is the first research and education centre in Canada dedicated to improving care for adults with neurodevelopmental disabilities and mental health challenges. The Centre’s efforts are organized around four pillars: research excellence, clinical innovation, education and training, and knowledge exchange.
Reporting to the Research Manager, the Azrieli Adult Neurodevelopmental Centre is seeking a full-time, contract (6 months) Research Assistant 2 to support projects focused on adults with developmental disabilities and their caregivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support participant recruitment, screening, and communication with participants and families, including those with developmental disabilities and mental health concerns
- Conduct data entry, cleaning, and quality control checks of research data
- Assist research staff in maintaining electronic study documents, databases, and binders in compliance with institutional SOPs
- Assist with preparation of research documents, including data collection materials, posters, reports, and knowledge translation products.
- Conduct literature searches using platforms such as PubMed
- Collaborate with project team members and attend regular team meetings and assist with meeting coordination.
The individual will support a healthy workplace that embraces diversity, encourages teamwork, and complies with all applicable CAMH policies and regulatory and legislative requirements.
Occasional evening and/or weekend work may be required. This position is located at 1025 Queen Street West.
Job Requirements
The successful candidate must have at least three years of community college education in health or social sciences, or an equivalent combination of education and 1 year of related experience.
- Prior research experience with individuals and/or families with neurodevelopmental disabilities is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word
- Familiarity with academic literature databases such as PubMed
- Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to follow SOPs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable working independently and proactively within a collaborative team environment
- Completion of GCP, TCPS2, and privacy training related to human participant research
