Position Overview
Senior Analyst, Billing & Control performs accounting, analytical and reporting activities to support the administration and reporting of revenue in collaboration with key stakeholders such as Business Development and Relationship Management, Client Service Delivery and Corporate Accounting.
Responsibilities
Produces client invoices for the provision of custody services using CIBC Mellon’s automated Fee Billing system, ensuring clients are billed appropriately based on thorough understanding of the fee schedule and billing methodology for each specific client and contract provisions Obtains and interprets client and contract information, seeking clarification regarding service arrangements, contract details and fee schedules from the Business Development Relationship Management team, Client Service Delivery and other key stakeholders Sets up client accounts in CIBC Mellon’s automated fee billing systems in accordance with contract provisions to ensure accuracy and completeness of invoices Performs accounting activities specific to fee billing, including preparing journal entries, checking balances, and preparing reconciliations and accruals based on knowledge of accounting practices (IFRS, AFD, write-off principles etc.) and CIBC Mellon’s operational procedures and protocols Generates month-end reporting and performs client variance analysis to explain variances and rationale for revenue fluctuations against budget and prior period actual. Investigates fee billing issues and discusses approaches including write-offs, with members of the Business Development and Relationship Management and Client Service Delivery Team Monitors system processing to problem solve issues related to client billing and reporting and collaborates with technical analysts to implement solutions including performing independent user testing in accordance with testing scripts and project deadlines Conducts research to identify gaps in current Fee Billing system operational process, and collaborates with technical staff to map process steps and develop recommendations on improved system processes and operational cost reductions
Qualifications
Completion of post-secondary education
CGA, CMA designation or equivalent training 2 to 3 years progressive experience in a financial or accounting environment Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Job Specific Competencies
The base salary range for this position is between $70,000 - $110,000 dependent on relevant experience. Please note, our recruitment process may include the use of AI-assisted tools. This role is for an existing opening.
