We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Improvement Co-op Student to join our Clinical Quality team. This role will support ongoing initiatives aimed at enhancing operational efficiency, improving clinical workflows, and preparing for accreditation readiness. The student will work closely with cross-functional teams including nursing, clerical staff, and clinical leadership to identify gaps, streamline processes, and implement sustainable improvements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Workflow Mapping & Analysis
    • Document current-state workflows
    • Identify bottlenecks and propose future-state process improvements.
  • Process Optimization
    • Support the development and refinement of Primary Health Care and Family Care Team workflows.
    • Assist in building tools for tracking receipt, provider review, and follow-up actions for key clinical processes
  • Quality Assurance
    • Participate in audits to identify missing results and gaps in documentation.
    • Help define sampling protocols and quality checklists for results management.
  • Data & Documentation Support
    • Assist in organizing and updating SOPs, job aids, and training materials.
    • Contribute to the development of dashboards or trackers using Excel or Myle.
  • Stakeholder Engagement
    • Collaborate with nurses, clerks, and physicians to gather feedback on process pain points.
    • Support communication efforts around new workflows and responsibilities.

Required Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Health Administration, Engineering, Business, Quality Improvement, or related field.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Interest in Process improvement, healthcare quality, patient safety, and operational excellence
