Mac-Weld Machining Ltd. is seeking a CAD Technician to take on the task of sharing our vision locally and globally.
The CAD technician prepares information to support engineers including preparing/updating installation drawings for projects, and preparing manufacturing drawings within the CAD department.
Skills & Responsibilities
- Develop and prepare engineering drawings and designs from plans, diagrams, or sketches.
- Use a variety of CAD software programs to create designs in 2D and 3D models.
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters) for future reference.
- Check drawings for errors.
- Work with customers to verify and finalize drawings before production.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- College Diploma in Engineering or relevant field.
- 2-3 years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of engineering principles and ability to create and read technical drawings.
- Experience using computer-aided design software such as Inventor is considered an asset.
- Ability to transfer, display and manipulate work using Microsoft Office and other programs.
- Strong attention to detail to create accurate and detailed drawings and check other colleagues’ work for accuracy and quality.
- Mathematical skills to complete calculations and estimates.
This is a full-time permanent position in our Sarnia facility.
Salary: $39520 – $49920 per year
