The Waypoint Research Institute (WRI) is currently seeking one (1) temporary part-time Research Analyst. The successful incumbent will work with the WRI on a project aimed at collecting data to understand hospitals’ barriers and facilitators to implementation of recommendations to reduce trauma among psychiatric healthcare workers and to develop and evaluate an implementation facilitation manual.
Please Note: This position offers a hybrid work environment consisting of in-office and remote work. The office location is 500 Church St in Penetanguishene, ON.
Located at Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care in Penetanguishene, Ontario, the WRI contributes to the field of mental health by providing strategic leadership on research and academic issues; facilitating innovating science and high quality applied research that aligns with Waypoint priorities; fostering partnerships and research collaborations across Ontario, in Canada and internationally; prioritizing knowledge translation that improves mental health and addictions care; and offering mentorship opportunities for students and trainees in a unique facility.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Assist in the preparation of research ethics proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant guidelines and regulations
- Participate in outreach to Canada wide stakeholders and knowledge users (Human Resources, Occupational Health, Clinical Teams, and Employee Unions)
- Develop knowledge products tailored to administrative and non-academic audiences
- Develop sample selection criteria and draw samples, as well as recruit and/or interview participants
- Actively participate in data collection efforts, including collecting survey data, conducting research interviews, entering, verifying and cleaning data to maintain accuracy and integrity
- Support the evaluation and interpretation of research data and findings
- Maintain quality and accuracy of research methodology throughout the analysis and reporting process
- Conduct comprehensive literature searches and reviews to support research projects
- Assist in preparing reports, articles, and presentations to communicate research findings effectively, including participation in conferences
- Maintain a detailed log of all research activities
- Assist in the preparation of materials for submission to granting agencies and foundations to secure funding for research initiatives
- Participate in project and department meetings, contributing insights and updates on research activities
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s level degree in a behavioural/life science/social science field with relevant post-degree research training preferred
- Master’s degree in a related discipline an asset
- Minimum 1 year of relevant post-degree research training/experience involving statistical research and analysis including work with analytical software applications
- Demonstrated experience in conducting or reviewing studies with qualitative and quantitative research methods and analysis.
- Demonstrated experience writing in clear language and translating research evidence into knowledge products and tools for academic and non-academic audiences
- Demonstrated experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in clinical or healthcare settings
- Experienced in research with a record of achievement in scholarly work (publications, presentations, completed research projects in work or senior undergraduate/graduate setting)
- Detail-oriented in order to ensure data is checked and consistently accurate
- Results-oriented work ethic to work independently and undertake tasks needed to accomplish work objectives and deliver quality, consistent and timely results
- Demonstrated teamwork, interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Proven excellence in written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to adapt readily to change
- Models and promotes core ethical practice, Waypoint Values, and reflects an optimistic and positive attitude
- TCPS2 Certification preferred
- Preference for proficiency in French/English language skills
