Job Summary

Reporting to the VP, Enterprise Architecture, Network, Data and Cloud Platform, the Senior Director, Enterprise Data platform Operations is responsible for support, implementation, and management of enterprise data platform. This role involves strategic planning, technical expertise, and leadership skills to ensure the enterprise data platform meets business needs and supports data-driven decision making. Working in partnership with both the business and technology teams, the Sr. Director, Enterprise Data Platform Operations, is accountable for supporting effective long-term strategies that align technology capability to support business goals.

What you will do:

  • Vision and Roadmap: Establish a clear vision and strategic roadmap for the Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) operations that aligns with the organization’s broader goals. Define key milestones, success metrics, and timelines.
  • Resource Planning: Identify the necessary resources, including budget, personnel, and technology, required for the successful implementation of the data platform operations strategy. Develop a comprehensive resource allocation plan and secure necessary approvals and budget in alignment with our internal process.
  • Policy and Governance: Support robust data governance policies and best practices to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance.
  • Communication and Change Management: Develop and execute a communication plan to keep stakeholders informed and engaged. Implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption and transition.
  • Maintenance and Operations: Establish processes for the ongoing maintenance and operations of the data platform. Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance through proactive monitoring and management.

What you bring:

  • Minimum of 17+ years of progressive technology and IT leadership, including 8+ years of experience in a senior leadership role
  • Minimum 10 yrs experience in data architecture, engineering and operations
  • Experience in architecting, developing, deploying and managing data platforms in cloud.
  • Familiarity with emerging data platform and storage technologies (e.g. AWS Data Zone, Iceberg)
  • Experience in working with cross-functional teams, both business and IT, to understand and meet their data needs.
  • At least 5-7 years’ experience in leading diverse data technologies and multidisciplinary Teams (e.g., Developers, Architects, Analysts, DevOps professionals)
  • Extensive expertise in selecting/implementing vendor products as well as designing/engineering data analytics, reporting and warehousing solutions.
  • Responsible for determining the cost and value proposition of Data initiatives negotiate and prioritize the highest value work, with experience building business cases and budgeting.
  • Experience leading multiple large/strategic multi-million-dollar projects.
  • Proven change management experience with the ability to effectively manage complex product and/or architecture transformations.
