Certified Sales & Rentals is growing, and we're on the lookout for a passionate, detail-driven Shipper/Receiver, whose primary responsibilities are shipping, receiving, and recording the movement of parts, supplies, materials, equipment, and stock to and from the organization. The successful candidate must load and unload shipments regularly, with the capability of repetitive heavy lifting, and use any necessary equipment, such as a forklift. The Shipper/Receiver must understand the impact of this position to other business functions that depend on the accuracy and efficiency of incoming and outgoing items. What You’ll Be Doing
- Determine method of shipment and arrange shipping; prepare bills of lading, customs forms, invoices and other shipping documents in appropriate computer programs, according to company policy
- Work closely with Logistics to coordinate shipments and ensure all required documents are correct
- Contact carriers for confirming shipments
- Assemble containers and crates, record contents in computer system, pack goods to be shipped and affix identifying information and shipping instructions
- Prepare to receive large shipments when advised by Logistics of scheduled arrival date
- Oversee loading and unloading of goods from trucks or other conveyances
- Sort and distribute incoming shipments
- Lift cases of product and/or stock merchandise according to documented procedures
- Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices, purchase orders or other documents, record shortages and reject damaged goods
- Process all required paperwork and maintain adequate records for reporting and tracking
- Ensure that shipments contain proper documentation and if multiple items per shipment, ensure item lists are complete
- Perform quality audits of the condition of shipped goods for both incoming and outgoing items prior to signing off
- Unpack, code and route goods to appropriate storage areas
- Manage inventory of shipping materials and supplies
- Operate forklift, hand truck or other equipment to load, unload, transport, and store goods
- Fill requisitions and orders
- Follow organizational standard concepts, practices, and procedures regarding shipping and receiving
- Contact suppliers to schedule deliveries and to resolve shortages, missed deliveries and other problems, in a timely manner
- Maintain organized work area according to policies, procedures, and safety regulations
- Perform other duties as required
What You Bring to the Table

Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent
-
Minimum two (2) years of experience in Shipping/Receiving, or a similar role
-
Experience with purchasing in related industries would be beneficial but not required
-
Any safety-related training and certificates would be beneficial but not required (i.e. Forklift)
-
Ability to complete waybills and other shipping documentation
-
Knowledge of rigging equipment/mining equipment an asset
-
Proficiency or previous work experience with computers would be considered an asset
-
Valid Driver’s license required
-
Ability to read basic drawings and take measurements
-
Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
-
Able to handle competing priorities simultaneously; work well under pressure with time-sensitive deadlines
-
Possess a positive and professional attitude, set a high standard, and convey professionalism at all times
