About the role
Job Summary:
The Key Account Manager will contribute to the efficient functioning of the Sales department by servicing National / Regional accounts in the Food, Drug & Mass Channels. They will provide direction on sales programs and overall strategic direction while taking into consideration the company’s commitment to our seven core Values.
Job Responsibilities:
- To develop and execute sustainable, profitable business strategies and tactics with the assigned National / Regional accounts
- To meet and exceed sales and profit objectives for each year while growing both market share and product distribution
- Work directly with National / Regional account contacts and provide business, sales, advertising and educational support in the Canadian Market.
- Develop proposals, negotiate terms and conditions, and implements contractual agreements with new and existing accounts while maintaining accountability for delivering strong financial results.
- Act as the first point of contact for assigned National / Regional accounts and respond to queries, issues and opportunities in a timely fashion
- Coordinate activities in support WN strategies and priorities including new product launches, planogram updates and promotion events in coordination with key internal departments including Marketing, Operations, Field Sales and Supply Chain.
- Be an internal account champion, assuring clear and regular communication to key company employees.
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and their specialty areas to satisfy all account requirements.
- Present information and solutions in a professional manner.
- Pursue opportunities unique to each assigned account in terms of marketing, merchandising and operations.
- Develop and maintain strong executive relationships with assigned retailers / wholesalers / distributors.
- Follow and adhere to all given instructions including work procedures, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
- Strictly adhere to and observe all safety policies as outlined in the company polices and training session
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Technical
- Minimum 5 years’ experience and a track record of success in Business-to-Business sales.
- Strong Computer skills – very high skill level with Excel and data management in addition to being well versed in Power BI, Word and PowerPoint
- Have very strong data analytical skills
- Have a solid understanding on Market track information – Nielsen data along with other industry tools, i.e. Numerator
- Previous Key Account and wholesale industry experience essential.
- A keen interest in people, exceptional customer service skills and follow through
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills
- Proven negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Valid driver’s license and passport (out of country travel may be required)
