Paladin Security is Hiring a Security Guard! Location: Toronto, ON

Schedule: Saturday & Sunday | 0000-1200 hrs

Pay Rate: $18.73/hour

Employment Type: Part-Time

Overview Located in the heart of downtown Toronto, the Ontario Court of Justice is a state-of-the-art facility designed to support a secure and professional legal environment. As a Part-Time Security Guard , you'll play a key role in maintaining order, safety, and public trust within a highly sensitive setting.

This position offers the opportunity to gain specialized courthouse experience, work with law enforcement professionals, and develop strong communication and situational awareness skills.

Responsibilities

• Protect the safety of all persons and property within courthouse grounds
• Prevent and minimize incidents such as fire, theft, vandalism, and trespassing
• Conduct regular interior and exterior patrols, documenting safety concerns and conditions
• Enforce the courthouse's smoke-free property and security access policies
• Operate and monitor security systems, including CCTV, access control, and secure elevator consoles
• Verify visitor and employee identification
• Respond promptly to alarms and incidents
• Complete detailed incident reports, daily logs, and security documentation
• Issue and manage access cards, keys, and visitor passes as required
• Lock/unlock doors according to schedule or operational needs
• Manage lost and found property, ensuring accurate documentation and safekeeping
• Support Toronto Police Service (TPS) with incidents involving aggressive or unauthorized individuals
• Provide safety escort services and assist emergency contractors as required
• Maintain a professional presence and deliver exceptional customer service at all times
• Perform additional duties as assigned

Requirements

• Valid Ontario Security Guard License
• Valid CPR Level C & First Aid Certification
• Minimum 1 year of security experience
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to policy and legal standards

Nice to Have:

• Previous Courthouse Security experience is considered an asset
