****To pursue project and client development in the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean, BBA wants to bolster its local multidisciplinary team. Working closely with our offices in Québec City, Montréal and Mont-Saint-Hilaire, this team is actively involved in developing the Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean region and in executing various projects in the aluminium, mining and metals, and energy sectors. BBA's automation, instrumentation and control teams stand out with local clients by combining cutting-edge technical expertise with unrivalled commitment and a strong understanding of the challenges involved in operating and maintaining industrial power systems.
By joining our team, you’ll support our industrial clients in the aluminium, energy and mining sectors with their operations as well as their maintenance and growth projects. As an engineer, you’ll lead and deliver engineering mandates in automation, instrumentation and control. Your role will be to contribute to various phases of engineering and site work. You’ll also be responsible for preparing proposals, selecting technologies and proposing solutions to clients.
Additionally, you’ll be mentored by various experienced engineers and benefit from BBA’s network of recognized experts to support you in completing mandates and in fostering your professional development.

Plan, organize, lead and oversee automation and control projects

Support initiatives to develop the discipline within the office

Manage and supervise the work of colleagues in the same discipline

Interact with clients and provide technical support to the business development team

Build and maintain client relationships

Identify client needs and emerging needs during projects

Help prepare plans and specifications as well as detailed engineering deliverables (piping and instrumentation diagrams, location drawings, I/O, loop and motor control diagrams, lists of cables and instruments, installation details)

Draft reports, plans and specifications, construction and purchasing specifications, and calls for tenders

Prepare technical data sheets and select instruments (flow, pressure, levels) and control valves

Provide technical assistance during construction work (electrical/instrumentation)

Perform inspections and technical surveys

Help program PLCs, DCSs and human-machine interfaces

Help prepare technical and commercial proposals

**Summary of certifications and job requirements
**

Undergraduate degree in automated production engineering or electrical engineering
-
At least four years of relevant experience as an automation/instrumentation engineer or an equivalent combination of training and experience
-
Experience in automation and control system design
-
Knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code
-
Expertise in pre-operational verifications and equipment startup
-
Experience in programming control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS)
-
Available for short- and long-term work assignments at client locations or sites
-
Proficiency in project management, technical writing and cost estimation
-
Member of a Canadian professional engineering association
-
Advanced English skills to facilitate collaboration with other BBA offices and/or clients located in English-speaking Canadian provinces and abroad; you may need to use English occasionally or daily, depending on current projects

Advanced French skills to collaborate effectively with BBA offices and/or clients outside Québec

Asset: experience with DCSs (Foxboro, ABB, Emerson) and in networking**
