Penn-co Construction is a leading construction company currently hiring a Senior Recruiter to join our team working at our Steinbach office. A Senior Recruiter that is confident, relationship-driven recruiter who thrives on networking, sourcing candidates, and building strong talent pipelines. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the challenge of high-level recruitmentspecifically superintendents. You will act as a strategic talent partner, helping the company secure exceptional professionals who can drive project success and organizational growth. This role is ideal for someone with a headhunter mindset who thrives on building relationships, networking, and identifying top construction leadership talent.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for Construction Superintendents and field leadership roles

  • Proactively source candidates through networking, industry contacts, referrals, and online platforms

  • Build and maintain relationships with construction professionals across the industry

  • Conduct candidate outreach, screening, and interviews

  • Develop a strong pipeline of superintendent candidates for current and future projects

  • Partner with senior leadership to understand workforce needs and project requirements

  • Attend industry events, job fairs, and networking opportunities to promote Penn-co as an employer of choice

  • Maintain candidate databases and recruitment tracking

  • Represent Penn-co’s culture, values, and career opportunities to prospective hires

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of recruitment experience, preferably within construction, engineering, or skilled trades

  • Strong headhunting and direct sourcing experience for senior or specialized roles

  • Outgoing, confident communicator who enjoys networking and building relationships and making industry connections

  • Proven ability to identify and engage passive candidates

  • Strong negotiation and persuasion skills

  • Excellent organizational and communication skills

  • Experience using LinkedIn Recruiter or similar sourcing tools is an asset

About PENN-CO CONSTRUCTION

Established in 1959 by Abram K. Penner and his two sons, Penn-co Construction began as a small farm based logging operation near the village of Blumenort which is approximately thirty miles Southeast of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. In the 1980’s and 90’s, Ernie Penner expanded Penn-co to new locations throughout Canada and the United States including Calgary, Toronto, Minneapolis and Raleigh. Although the head office has always been located in Blumenort, Penn-co has successfully completed projects from Ontario to British Columbia as well as in Minnesota, Nebraska and North Carolina.
