We’re looking for our next Principal Quality Assurance Engineer. Could it be you? The Principal QA Engineer will architect the future of quality assurance at Flexiti by researching, designing, and governing our next-generation testing strategy. This role leads the selection and implementation of cutting-edge technologies, with a strong focus on AI-driven test automation and establishing robust, AI-augmented quality frameworks. The ideal candidate is an expert engineer with deep experience in modern cloud-native architectures and a passion for leveraging artificial intelligence to create smarter, more efficient, and more resilient testing solutions. This role is directly responsible for providing strategic guidance, solution architecture, and technical leadership for agile teams, embedding a culture of intelligent quality. The responsibilities of this position are to architect and implement AI-augmented testing practices and technologies, including a self-healing E2E test framework for Flexiti proprietary projects. This involves understanding complex business needs, directing teams in enhancing our applications, and establishing forward-looking standards for software quality. Keep reading… In this role, responsibilities include but are not limited to: Architect and implement a strategy for leveraging AI in the QA process, including AI-driven test generation, visual regression, anomaly detection in test results, and predictive quality analytics. Continuously evaluate and improve our testing processes, exploring new technologies such as Contract Testing (Pact) and Shift-Left strategies. Lead the automation and optimization of our testing feedback loops, ensuring rapid and reliable signals within CI/CD pipelines. Govern the use of AI tools within the QA process, ensuring consistent application, reliability, and efficiency gains across all engineering teams. Mentor and guide QA and software engineers, fostering a culture of quality ownership and collaboration. Effectively communicate quality metrics, risks, and technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Provide leadership with feedback on the QA ecosystem and pioneer the adoption of new AI-powered solutions to enhance quality and efficiency. Collaborate with technology teams to design resilient and testable software and AI systems from the ground up. Pursue and champion continuous learning across the organization regarding AI in testing, emerging technologies, and modern design patterns. Work closely with application developers to define holistic test strategies for new intelligent applications. Infuse DevOps practices with AI capabilities, improving the CI/CD pipeline with intelligent test selection, self-healing scripts, and faster feedback loops. Perform code reviews for both application and test automation code, ensuring best practices for quality and maintainability. Track and support the prioritization of technical debt in regards to test automation and infrastructure. Collaborate with solution architects, engineers and product owners to ensure quality is a key consideration throughout the entire development lifecycle.
So are YOU our next Principal Quality Assurance Engineer? You are, if you… Diverse Quality assurance Engineering and Quality leadership experience (7+ years). Proven experience designing and implementing AI-powered testing strategies or a deep understanding of AI testing tools (e.g., for test generation, self-healing tests, visual validation). Experience in the Finance industry is "nice to have," but a growth mindset and curiosity to learn complex financial workflows is required. Expertise in one or more of the following: Cypress/Playwright, BrowserStack, Appium, Appetizer, Detox, WebdriverIO, C#, NodeJS, Javascript, Typescript, Docker, Kubernetes, SQL, gRPC, Event Brokers. Mastery in architecting and writing scalable, maintainable, and efficient test automation frameworks. Experience with building, testing, and deploying Docker images and a deep understanding of CI/CD concepts for microservices. Proven success leading quality initiatives in cross-functional agile teams. Experience with SQL Databases (e.g., MSSQL/MySQL) and NoSQL Databases (e.g., Firestore, MongoDB). Expertise with Git, JIRA, Confluence, Coda.. Extensive experience with major cloud providers - GCP, AWS, Azure. Deep understanding of Event-driven, streaming architectures, CQRS, etc.
Compensation Information: Base salary range: $114,000 - $142,000 The final compensation package will be commensurate with the successful candidate's experience, skills, and geographic location (Canada). It includes a comprehensive benefits plan and a competitive incentive (bonus) program for Full-Time Permanent roles.
