Role Description The Café Barista / Food Service Counter Attendant is a full-time, on-site role based at Churros 92 in Toronto, ON. This role includes preparing and serving coffee and specialty beverages, assisting with churro and other food preparation, and handling ice cream and smoothie orders. Daily responsibilities involve operating café equipment, maintaining a clean and organized service area, restocking supplies, and following food safety and hygiene standards. The role also requires greeting guests, taking orders, processing payments, answering product questions, and ensuring a friendly, efficient customer experience. Team members collaborate with colleagues, support opening and closing procedures, and help with general upkeep of the café. Qualifications Strong Customer Service and Interpersonal Skills, with a friendly, professional approach to guest interactions. Barista skills, including experience preparing espresso-based drinks and operating coffee equipment. Effective Communication skills for interacting with customers and coordinating with team members. Food Preparation skills and familiarity with basic food handling, portioning, and presentation. Ability to work on-site in a fast-paced café environment, including standing for extended periods and performing repeated tasks. Attention to cleanliness, food safety, and hygiene standards; knowledge of local health regulations is an asset. Previous experience in a café, bakery, or food service setting is preferred but not required.
