About the role

Required As a Data Valorization Strategy Practice Leader, you play a key role in the Office of the Chief Data Officer, which helps various sectors across the organization generate, prioritize and implement analytics and AI initiatives. Your mandate is to help teams take full advantage of data and AI to achieve their business objectives. You work closely with business partners to understand their challenges, identify opportunities and align analytical efforts with the organization’s strategic priorities. You act as a consultant and resource person, supporting teams in the planning, design and deployment of analytics and AI solutions tailored to their needs. You also help them integrate and adopt these solutions by facilitating change management and ensuring they follow best practices for data valorization governance. You also play a key role in shifting people’s mindsets and mobilizing AI teams. You encourage knowledge sharing, contribute to skills development and foster collaboration between sectors to maximize value creation. Finally, you play a strategic role with senior management and decision-making bodies. You take part in governance committees, recommend priorities to design and prioritize analytical initiatives and help update the organization’s strategic and technological governance documents. This is a strategic position that requires expertise in analytics, AI and data strategy, along with the ability to work in a complex and dynamic environment. More specifically, you’ll be required to:

  • Help the business sectors generate, prioritize and deploy data valorization opportunities in line with their business priorities.
  • Help sectors develop their data and analytics strategies and execute the corresponding roadmaps.
  • Act as the main point of contact between the business sector and the Office of Desjardins Group’s Chief Data Officer.
  • Support the business sectors as they establish data and analytics business practices.
  • Collect market business intelligence regarding AI for the business sectors to identify analytical opportunities.

What You Bring To The Table

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (data science, engineering or business administration with a specialization in AI)
  • A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Experience in managing cross-sector projects, leading teams and communicating with senior management
  • Experience working collaboratively and building strong partnerships with various sectors of the organization
  • Experience providing support as part of a data- and analytics-driven organizational transformation
  • Past experience in consulting
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Expertise in identifying and exploiting AI opportunities related to tech trends
  • Knowledge of analytics tools (machine learning, visualization) and cloud-based data platforms
  • Knowledge of the banking, wealth management and/or insurance industries
