About the role

The Software Development Manager will drive the delivery of scalable, high-performance systems while nurturing team growth, mentoring engineers, and fostering a collaborative, high-velocity work environment. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering peers to align initiatives with strategic priorities, balancing technical excellence with fast execution. This position requires a hands-on mindset, strong technical judgment, and the ability to solve complex problems while supporting a people-first culture. Success in this role will directly impact user experience, product innovation, and the growth of both the engineering organization and the technology platform.

Accountabilities

·         Lead and grow a team of software developers, focusing on mentorship, performance, and long-term career development.

·         Drive the delivery of applications and services powering global visual commerce experiences at scale.

·         Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leads to ensure alignment with broader company priorities.

·         Establish and evolve team processes and technical practices to support high-quality, high-velocity development.

·         Support the design of scalable, maintainable, and observable systems while managing technical debt and reliability.

·         Participate in hiring, onboarding, and building a diverse, inclusive engineering team.

·         Foster cross-functional collaboration and reinforce company values, modeling accountability and excellence.

Requirements

·         5+ years of experience managing engineering teams.

·         8+ years of hands-on experience developing scalable, production-grade backend systems.

·         Proven experience owning mission-critical applications, services, and APIs.

·         Strong technical instincts with the ability to guide architecture decisions, make trade-offs, and clarify complex problems.

·         Demonstrated ability to coach and grow engineers at all levels, with a focus on long-term team health.

·         Excellent communication and collaboration skills with cross-functional stakeholders.

·         Comfortable in a fast-paced, remote-first environment with shifting priorities and autonomy.

·         Familiarity with React, NextJS, Django, Python, AWS, or similar technology stacks is a strong plus.
