You as an Technical Services Manager will:

  • Be responsible for providing technical input and engineering advice for maintenance teams and help ensure design and construction teams build to the requirements of facility management operations.
  • Ensure site teams comply with all current engineering standards, codes, operational specifications, and service level agreements. T
  • Partner with other members of EDFS technical team and interface with clients to ensure that technical FM issues are properly addressed.
  • Supports EllisDon Facilities Services maintain and optimize the portfolios of complex institutional facilities which are key parts of Canada’s infrastructure.
  • Provide leadership of EDFS technical team’s facilities-focused efforts;
  • Ensure assigned sites are supported to be fully compliant with relevant codes and standards in regard to preventative maintenance (PM) and facility management (FM) operations;
  • Provide technical support for operational facilities across all facility systems;
  • Review system operations and develop reliability upgrade and efficiency improvement projects;
  • Coordinate with Site Operations, Analytics, Energy, and Lifecycle renewal teams to identify priority areas for improvements;
  • Review Building Condition Assessments and assist with developing Lifecyle renewal and capital plans;
  • Oversee development and adherence to standardized PM programs across assigned sites;
  • Support in the development of standard PM programs;
  • Monitor site team and vendors performance in execution of PM plans;
  • Coordinate utilization of CMMS functionality with site and support teams;
  • Provide support as required to projects transitioning from construction to operations, including shop drawing review, site reviews, and functional testing support;
  • Provide feedback to design build team, including subcontractors during design development through construction to ensure designs and build support operational needs;
  • Stay current on building systems technology.
  • Support the education and development of technical site personnel;
  • Provide technical support on pursuits and proposal submissions;
  • Maintain technical FM lessons learned documentation;
  • Help keep technical resources library up-to-date.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You are a Licensed Professional Engineer or have a Degree in Engineering, Technology Diploma, Technical certification, Trades work and equivalent work experience
  • Extensive knowledge of CMMS system(s), thorough understanding of preventative maintenance programs and requirements.
  • 10+ years experience with large complex buildings;
  • Good oral and written communication skills;
  • You have working knowledge of building systems and operations;
  • You have working knowledge of relevant facility management and construction software
  • You have strong critical thinking skills, candidate will have a good understanding of system interconnectivity in facility management
  • You are able to travel to support operations in British Columbia and Alberta
