Since launching in 2021, Roth Canada has participated in more than 90 transactions representing over $3.5 billion in capital markets activity, including 10 lead or co-lead mandates. Today we operate offices in Vancouver, Calgary, and Toronto, and are building a leading cross-border platform connecting Canadian issuers and investors with Roth Capital’s extensive US institutional network.
We are seeking a Senior Institutional Equity Sales professional to help build and lead Roth Canada’s institutional franchise.
This role is designed for a high-producing salesperson with deep relationships across Canadian and global asset managers, who wants to leverage Roth’s US platform while maintaining ownership and accountability for their client book.
The Platform
Roth Canada is the Canadian affiliate of Roth Capital Partners, one of the most active small and mid-cap investment banks in the United States.
The Roth platform includes:
- 2,000+ active institutional investor relationships
- 430+ companies under research coverage
- One of the largest corporate access conferences in North America
- $66B+ of transaction value over the past five years
This platform enables Roth Canada to provide clients with access to US and international capital pools, differentiated research coverage, and one of the most active corporate access ecosystems in growth equity markets.
The Opportunity
Roth Canada is expanding beyond treasury offerings and advisory mandates to build a fully integrated institutional trading and sales capability.
This role offers the opportunity to:
- Build and monetize institutional client relationships across Canada and globally
- Leverage Roth Capital’s US investor network to source and execute cross-border opportunities
- Participate in capital markets activity including secondaries, blocks, marketed offerings, and private placements
- Deliver differentiated research insights and corporate access opportunities
- Help shape the development of Roth Canada’s institutional sales franchise
This is an entrepreneurial role for a senior professional who wants the autonomy of owning their client relationships, while leveraging the scale and reach of Roth’s global platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop and monetize relationships with institutional investors including hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds, and asset managers
- Drive trading commissions and capital markets participation through active client engagement
- Collaborate with research, trading, and investment banking teams to generate differentiated investment opportunities
- Facilitate corporate access including conferences, roadshows, and bespoke investor meetings
- Expand Roth Canada’s institutional investor footprint in Canada and internationally
- Identify and originate capital markets opportunities through investor feedback and client relationships
Qualifications
- 7+ years of institutional equity sales experience at an investment bank or broker-dealer
- Established relationships with institutional investors in Canada and/or globally
- Demonstrated revenue production and ability to monetize institutional relationships
- Strong understanding of equity markets, capital markets transactions, and institutional investor dynamics
- Sector expertise in resources, technology, or growth equities preferred
- CIRO registration required; FINRA Series 7 considered an asset
Compensation
Roth Canada offers a competitive, production-based compensation structure aligned with revenue generation, including participation in trading commissions and capital markets activity.
