Job Description:

You will be part of a growing development team involved in all stages of product development—from planning and design all the way to testing and deployment. Particulars:

• Full-time
• Must work from Toronto office located at Yonge & Eglinton
• 40 hours per week

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, test and maintain backend services, APIs and Spring Boot applications using Java
• Create dynamic front-end applications primarily in React, TypeScript, and Redux
• Provide technical guidance, mentor junior team members, and lead code reviews to maintain best practices
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to architect scalable, maintainable systems
• Ensure robust, tested code and participate in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) processes
• Write and maintain technical documentation for projects and processes

Skills:

• Experience with object-oriented development using Java (preferred), C# or similar languages
• Proficiency with React and JavaScript (TypeScript preferred)
• Experience with modern JavaScript toolchains, testing libraries, and best practices
• Knowledge of best practices and performance optimization
• Deep understanding of software architecture, design patterns, and SOLID principles
• Proven experience leading projects, reviewing code, and mentoring other engineers
• Able to seamlessly switch between projects and tasks
• Self-motivated, able to work independently, and thrive in a dynamic environment

Good to Have:

• Familiarity with common SQL databases
• Experience with Docker or Kubernetes
• Exposure to AWS, GCP, or other cloud platforms

Experience:

• 5+ years of professional development experience (or equivalent)
• Bachelor's degree in computer science (or equivalent)
