Position Status Permanent Part-Time
Highlights This important role is about supporting a wonderful, funny man once a week. This position is great for someone who enjoys both supporting someone to be out in the community and being at home with them. This position, or more so, the relationship that comes from this position, is an important part of supporting this person to have a well-intentioned good life.
Duties And Responsibilities You will meet this person at their home near 4th Avenue and Alma Street. Most Thursdays you will be taking this person to the pool for an aquasize class. After that most days you will be going back to their home to prepare lunch although there may be some times when you and the person will go out for lunch. There is also some housework that will need to be tended to.
Reports To Program Manager
Rate Of Pay CSW: $24.50/hour to $26.65/hour
Probation 3 months
Driving Requirement Driver's license (Class 5)
Preferred Training Or Experience We are recommending a minimum 1 year related experience working in the community living sector or an equivalent combination of education, training or experience. Mental health training/experience would be an asset.
Skill And Abilities – Reliable
– Calm and confident presence
– Good listener
– Demonstrated knowledge of practical skills in supporting people to observe and resolve conflicts in the community
– Mandt training (provided)
– Interest in politics and media would be an asset
– Demonstrated ability to communicate key information to team members and supervisors
– Driving is required, you will be driving the person’s vehicle
Specific Training Or Experience Required
- Supporting People who get anxious
- Ability to motivate, encourage and engage the interests of others.
- Computer proficiency (email, Word, internet usage)
