Assistant Professor in Mathematics (2-year Contractually Limited Appointment)

McMaster University is located on the traditional territories of the Haudenosaunee and Mississauga Nations, and within the lands protected by the Dish with One Spoon wampum agreement.

Position Description:

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics at McMaster University invites applications for a two-year Contractually Limited Appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of Mathematics. The anticipated starting date for this position is August 1, 2026. The teaching commitment for this position will be six undergraduate courses per year. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Mathematics and preference will be given to candidates with a proven record of successful teaching at the university level.

The Department of Mathematics & Statistics currently has 37 full-time faculty members and approximately 80 graduate students and 15 postdoctoral fellows. More information about the Department can be found at: www.math.mcmaster.ca.
