As the Maintenance Engineer, you will be tasked with planning, coordinating, and scheduling major asset maintenance and rehabilitation activities to support the delivery of reliable Wastewater Treatment Plant operations. Primary duties include:
- Manage wastewater treatment capital maintenance projects from concept to completion for end of life asset replacements. This may include managing consultants and contractors.
- Prepare procurement documentation for consultants, contractors, and maintenance service providers.
- Provide plant maintenance engineering and asset management technical support for wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance.
- Research, develop, implement and support the understanding of asset management and maintenance management concepts and initiatives.
Qualifications
- A degree in Engineering with at least 4 years of relevant, progressively responsible professional engineering experience obtained after receiving your P. Eng. Designation and a current licensure as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) complete with practicing status OR licensure and practicing status by the first day of work. - A valid Class 5 Driver's License (or provincial equivalent), and access to a personal vehicle for business use is required.
- Knowledge of asset life cycle management will be considered an asset.
- Project management experience, including working with contractors and multidisciplinary teams, is considered an asset.
- Design experience will be considered an asset.
- You are an excellent communicator who works effectively in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
- You demonstrate strong analytical skills and the ability to identify, assess, and apply new industrial technologies and best practices.
Working Conditions: This position works in a wastewater treatment plant where personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

- Position Type: 1 Temporary (up to 22 months)
- \Compensation: Level P3E: $115,464 - 144,330 per annum
- Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week.
- Days of work: This position works a 5-day work week with 1 day off in a 3 week cycle.
