Fanshawe College is seeking interested and qualified professionals to teach didactic and/or clinical courses in the Dental Hygiene (DHY) program in the School of Health Sciences .
Why This Role Is Important
Reporting to the Associate Dean, part-time Professors at Fanshawe College are responsible for providing academic leadership and for developing an effective learning environment for students. Availability for in-person on campus delivery is required for most courses, and successful candidates will be required to perform work within Ontario.
We require qualified faculty to teach across the following area:
- Dental Hygiene (DHY) program

What You'll Bring
Qualifications to teach c linical c ourses:

Minimum 5 years’ recent and relevant clinical experience
-
Dental Hygienists must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program and registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario with a general or specialty certificate of registration
-
Post-secondary teaching or training experience is prefer red
Qualifications to teach d idactic c ourses:
-
Dental Hygienists must be a graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program and registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario with a general or specialty certificate of registration
-
Must have a Baccalaureate degree (or in progress) in a related field
-
Preference will be given to candidates with a Master’s degree in a related discipline; consideration will be given to applicants currently enrolled in a Master’s program
-
An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
-
Post-secondary teaching or training experience is requi red with the preferred candidate having curriculum design and experience with inter-professional education initiatives
Additional Qualifications:

Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence and student success

Excellent communicator
-
Strong interpersonal skills
-
Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners

Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies are required

Teaching experience with hybrid delivery preferred
-
Proven ability to work in a team environment
-
Related industry work experience, previous college teaching experience and knowledge of curriculum design and student evaluations are assets
