About the role

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

This Manager, Legal Entity (Canada) Reporting provides financial control, management and reporting for legal entities primarily supporting Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management.

What will you do?

  • Financial control, management and reporting for legal entities primarily supporting Personal Banking, Commercial Banking, Wealth Management, Corporate Support and Corporate Treasury platforms
  • RBC legal entity financial reporting for regulatory & tax purposes
  • Implementation and adherence with Enterprise General Ledger Attestation Policy
  • Consolidation eliminations, reconciliation and reporting
  • Financial control and centralized reconciliation of intra-group funding and other non-derivatives
  • General financial advisory for legal entity, intra-group, securities accounting and consolidation matters
  • Assist with the preparation and analysis of financial statements of the assigned legal entities, ensure they are completed in an accurate and timely manner:
  • This includes quarterly board packages and interim and year end audited financial statements with notes and analysis. Includes financial statements for Wealth Management, Personal Banking and Commercial Banking entities.
  • Preparation of monthly journal entries for the assigned legal entities
  • Where appropriate manage day to day activities associated with the subsidiary i.e. cash management and investing
  • Identify various accounting issues and make recommendations
  • Reconcile/explain differences between management and Statutory/GAAP reporting of the assigned legal entities
  • Assist with the interim and year end audits
  • Identify Key IFRS changes and implement accordingly
  • Execute upon financial controls Participate in projects and identify opportunities to streamline and automate manual processes
  • Provide guidance and support to business units on reporting issues.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • CPA or equivalent designation in progress at minimum
  • Strong accounting skills required to be able to understand the complex accounting and reporting issues
  • Strong analytical, oral/written communication skills
  • 2 to 3 years of financial industry experience preferred
  • Teamwork and Collaboration skills
  • Attention to details and motivated
  • Ability to multi-task due to various demands for information and tight deadlines
