This role sits within the Corporate Applications team. It supports Workday HCM as a core enterprise platform and primary domain of expertise, while also contributing to the design and delivery of solutions across IMCO’s broader corporate application landscape. This includes the Microsoft technology stack (Power Platform, Power BI, and Dynamics 365) and other enterprise platforms used across the organization.
The role requires a strong sense of curiosity and professional judgement, with the ability to stay current on platform capabilities, explore unfamiliar systems, ask thoughtful questions, and apply learning to deliver scalable, user‑centered solutions.
The successful candidate will bring strong, hands‑on expertise in Workday, along with the ability and expectation to apply that expertise within a broader solutions context. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to translate needs into practical, scalable solutions that deliver measurable organizational value.
The position reports to the Senior Manager, HR Solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Enterprise and Corporate Application Solutions
- Drive end-to-end solution outcomes for Workday HCM initiatives, from problem definition through implementation, ensuring solutions are fit for purpose and aligned with business priorities.
- Evaluate requirements, constraints, and trade-offs to recommend practical solutions, balancing configuration choices, user experience, and long-term supportability.
- Partner with business stakeholders to improve processes, data quality, reporting, and overall system effectiveness.
Microsoft and Cross-Platform Solutions
- Design and deliver solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Power BI, Power Platform, and Dynamics 365.
- Build and support integrations between Workday and other enterprise applications.
- Identify and deliver opportunities for automation and process optimization that extend beyond the core ERP platform.
Delivery, Collaboration, and Enablement
- Support end-to-end solution delivery, including requirements gathering, configuration, validation support, and deployment.
- Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and partners to deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Create and maintain documentation, contribute to shared standards, and support user adoption.
Project and Initiative Leadership
- Contribute to and lead initiatives spanning multiple platforms and business areas.
- Act as a subject matter expert supporting projects led by other teams.
Must-Haves:
Education : University degree (computer science, Information Technology or human resources preferred) or any combination of training and experience deemed relevant for the role.
Experience : Five to seven years of experience supporting, maintaining, or implementing enterprise applications or ERP platforms.
Technical and Functional Skills:
- Strong, hands‑on expertise with Workday, including configuration, integrations, and functional solutioning.
- Experience designing or supporting solutions beyond core ERP platforms, including exposure to Microsoft business applications such as Power BI, Power Platform, or Dynamics 365.
- Demonstrated ability and interest in expanding skills across a broader corporate application ecosystem.
- Strong analytical and solution design skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical outcomes.
- Experience working across the SDLC, including requirements, design, validation, and deployment.
- Solid understanding of data security, access controls, and enterprise governance.
Professional Skills:
- Proven ability to manage initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and departments.
- Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Creativity and innovation in designing solutions and improving processes.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Hands‑on experience across both Workday and Microsoft business application platforms.
- Workday Pro or Service Partner certifications, or Microsoft Power Platform certifications.
- Experience designing solutions that span ERP and non-ERP systems.
- Working knowledge of data modeling concepts and familiarity with data warehousing or analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
The base salary range for this position is CAD $105,000.00 - $138,000.00. The placement within the range is determined by the range of market pay for the specific position, as well as the candidate's knowledge, skillset and experience relative to the requirements of the position and to internal peers.
