We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the role of Logistics Coordinator for our Transportation Team, stationed at our 61 Balzer Rd, Kitchener, ON. The successful incumbent will be responsible for effectively coordinating drivers, routes, deliveries, maintenance, security and safety, and other transportation related functions to create direct contributions to the organization and to customers’ experiences. What’s expected:
Operations
- Freight Logistics coordination of material to satisfy contract demand fulfillment
- Organizing internal moves from yard to yard for material movement to ensure feeder yards are filled
- Coordinate with multiple vendors on daily material movement
- Reporting updates daily to ensure vendors have adequate information to fulfill material movement
- Communication with Traders on contract renewals monthly
- Communication with TMM yards on material that needs to be allocated to correct site
- Communication with vendors to ensure we provide daily support for driver allocation for operations coverage
- Handle load rejection tickets to ensure delivery is made in Mayer
- Act as a liaison between vendors and dispatch team for flow of information
- Provide customers with professional, timely and proactive support
- Ensure optimal equipment utilization and maintenance
- Collaborating with peers to drive improvements in performance, analyzing key metrics
- Allocating work and resources to effectively meet on-time delivery requirements
- Monitor and ensure fleet operations are compliant with regulations and laws
Health & Safety
- Carries out responsibilities in compliance with the provisions of the governing Occupational Health and Safety legislation and its regulations, wearing any required personal protective equipment and clothing and operating in a manner that will not create hazards, to contribute to a safe workplace
- Bring health and safety issues to the attention of the immediate supervisor
- Reports on all accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Knowledge of Provincial and Highway Traffic Act and USA Transportation laws
Quality & Environmental Responsibilities
- Carries out responsibilities in accordance with Quality and Environmental policies, procedures, and objectives to produce quality work product and contribute to an environmentally conscious workplace
- Brings any environmental or quality issues and concerns to the attention of the immediate supervisor
You have:
- Minimum of five to seven (5 – 7) years in a similar role
- Proven organizational skills
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Well organized and strong attention to detail
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and be flexible to changing priorities
- Analytical mindset and good problem-solving skills
- Strong knowledge of transportation and logistics
- Ability to negotiate
- Ability to multitask contracts and flow of material
Bonus points!
- Bachelor’s degree or a degree in supply chain management or logistics.
- Fleet transportation, management and dispatch experience
- SCMP or similar logistics designation
