We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Casual Housekeeping/Laundry Attendant to join our team based out of our Long-Term Care Centre at 7404 - 139 Ave NW, Edmonton, Alberta.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Selects materials and supplies from utility and linen supply room, loads service cart and transports to work area. Returns unused supplies to utility room, cleans cart and equipment.
  • Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, floors and equipment with designated cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
  • Sweeps, mops, wet washes and vacuums floors.
  • Polishes floors using buffing machine.
  • Empties ashtrays and trash baskets, and disposes of trash.
  • Scours and polishes sinks, tubs, mirrors and similar equipment, replenishing dispensable items.
  • Dusts window sills blinds, floors and furniture.
  • Cleans equipment such as mops, buckets, vacuum cleaner and utility cart.
  • Strips, cleans, seals and polishes the floors.
  • Porter equipment and supplies as directed.
  • Promotes and maintains appropriate and effective communication with other staff and Residents.
  • Ensures that equipment, procedures and activities are conducive to a safe environment for Residents, staff, volunteers and visitors.
  • Reports unsafe conditions promptly to his/her immediate supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum grade 12 education is required.
  • A minimum of one year experience as a Housekeeping Laundry Attendant is required.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills are required.
  • Knowledge of the English language is required and knowledge of the Ukrainian of other Slavic languages is an asset.
  • Individual must be physically and mentally fit to perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.
