At Alstom, we understand transport networks and what moves people. From high-speed trains, metros, monorails, and trams, to turnkey systems, services, infrastructure, signalling and digital mobility, we offer our diverse customers the broadest portfolio in the industry. Every day, more than 80 000 colleagues lead the way to greener and smarter mobility worldwide, connecting cities as we reduce carbon and replace cars.

Take on a new challenge and apply your system engineering expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative, innovative, and dedicated teammates. You'll play a pivotal role in defining and optimizing train functions and their associated subsystems to meet performance requirements. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (RAMS, technical purchasing, and design teams), ensure seamless integration of subsystems, and provide technical support to customers, and much more. You’ll specifically take care of defining train system architecture and operational modes, as well as verifying and validating train-level performance, but also engage in technical issue resolution during train revenue service. We’ll look to you for:

Performing transverse requirement allocations to various subsystems in collaboration with specialists

Developing requirements based on reference documents, standards, certifications, safety, platform, and customer needs

Defining train system architecture, operational modes, and functionalities

Conducting train system FMECA in coordination with the RAMS team

Ensuring consistency and compatibility between subsystem specifications

Writing subsystem specifications and architecture descriptions

Managing technical relationships with suppliers and overseeing QCD commitments

Defining and performing train verification strategies

Supporting train integration, tuning, and issue resolution during revenue service

Providing return of experience to enhance reference solutions

All about you We value passion and attitude over experience. That’s why we don’t expect you to have every single skill. Instead, we’ve listed some that we think will help you succeed and grow in this role:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, or other relevant diploma

Minimum 3 years of engineering experience in the railway field

Very good knowledge of requirements management and change management

Familiarity with DOORS application (an asset)

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

Excellent communication and collaboration abilities

Things you’ll enjoy Join us on a life-long transformative journey – the rail industry is here to stay, so you can grow and develop new skills and experiences throughout your career. You’ll also:

Enjoy stability, challenges and a long-term career free from boring daily routines

Work with new security standards for rail signalling

Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues

Contribute to innovative projects

Utilise our agile and inclusive working environment

Steer your career in whatever direction you choose across functions and countries

Benefit from a fair and dynamic reward package that recognises your performance and potential, plus comprehensive and competitive social coverage (life, medical, pension)

BILINGUALISM :

Proficiency in French and English is required. Knowledge of a third language is considered an asset when working with our international partners, suppliers, colleagues, and customers.  In Quebec, French remains the primary working language of our company.

You don’t need to be a train enthusiast to thrive with us. We guarantee that when you step onto one of our trains with your friends or family, you’ll be proud. If you’re up for the challenge, we’d love to hear from you!
