About the role
As the Sales Manager at Sherwood Hockey, you will shape and execute our global sales vision. You will focus on managing and building a network of retailers and distributors to achieve company sales targets and grow the brand across key international markets. This role requires strategic leadership, operational excellence, account management, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure Sherwood Hockey excels on the global stage.
What You'll Do
- Lead External Sales Initiatives: Identify, recruit, retain, and support international retailers and distributors.
- Execute Global Sales Strategy: Bring Sherwood Hockey’s brand to life through premium partnerships that reflect both regional opportunities and global ambitions.
- Channel-Specific Growth Planning: Analyze global ice hockey market trends and recommend efficient country-specific market strategies.
- Revenue Management: Plan and forecast revenue; ensure targets are achieved across various sales channels and product categories.
- Relationship Building: Foster strong relationships with key partners; build trusted, long-term relationships with global partners.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, brand marketing, operations, and other departments to support business objectives.
What You Bring
- 7+ years experience in sales, buying, or merchandising within the sporting goods industry or premium/performance-oriented brands.
- Leadership experience with demonstrated ability to build, scale, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Strong understanding of international retail landscape, including regional market dynamics and premium partner expectations.
- Building trust and alignment across internal teams and external partners with a collaborative, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Ability to forecast and track sales activities to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Product expertise and sales knowledge; ability to articulate the benefits of the company's products to new and existing customers.
- Ability to budget and forecast business in different markets based on competitive and political environments.
- Relationship management skills: ability to visit existing and prospective customers in their home markets and at international hockey conferences.
- Financial literacy: ability to build price lists, negotiate contracts, and understand impacts of decisions on company’s P&L.
- Willingness to work autonomously and travel (20-25%)
- Strong knowledge of hockey with the ability to speak "the industry lingo."

Our typical hiring range is between $80,000.00 and $131,000.00 per annum. Salary decisions are also dependent on other factors such as your experience, job-related knowledge, skills and competencies, market location, industry benchmarks, internal equity and other role-specific requirements.
