Electrical Engineer – Residential Buildings
A residential development organization is seeking a Electrical Engineer to support the design and delivery of electrical systems for residential building projects. This role involves close collaboration with internal teams and external consultants and provides exposure to projects from early design through construction.
Responsibilities Design electrical systems for commercial, residential, and mixed-use buildings Prepare electrical drawings, schematics, and specifications using AutoCAD and/or Revit Perform load calculations, lighting design, power distribution, circuiting, fire alarm and security system design, generator sizing Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards (OBC, OESC, CSA, etc) Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams and external stakeholders Conduct site visits, reviews, and support construction phase services Assist in preparing permit documentation and responding to authority comments
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline 5+ years of experience in building electrical design (consulting experience preferred) Proficiency in AutoCAD; Revit experience considered a strong asset Familiarity with Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC) and Ontario Building Code (OBC), Life Safety related CSA standards such as CSA C282, CAN/ULC-S524, S537, etc. Strong understanding of building systems, load calculations, and lighting design Excellent communication and teamwork skills EIT or P.Eng. designation (or eligibility) preferred

Compensation Transparency The expected compensation range for this role is $75 000 – $120 000 annually, depending on experience, skills, and qualifications. Health, Dental and vision care. On-site parking.
