We're looking for one (1) Youth & Family Counsellor I / II to join our team! Please note, this position is full-time, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5:00pm.
Role
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate professional to join our team in supporting therapeutic foster caregivers, children, and youth. This role provides both in-home and community-based crisis intervention, case coordination, and advocacy to ensure the success and well-being of children and youth in care.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide in-home and community-based crisis support to therapeutic foster caregivers, children, and youth.
- Advocate for youth and caregivers while coordinating access to resources, services, and training opportunities.
- Review referrals, make placement recommendations, and attend required meetings.
- Collaborate and consult with child intervention practitioners, therapists, psychiatrists, youth workers, school staff, and other professionals to support treatment planning and progress.
- Coordinate and facilitate system meetings, including individualized care planning.
- Monitor case management and provide recommendations in the areas of education, social skills, recreation, community resources, clinical needs, cultural supports, and transitions.
- Support recruitment, assessment, and training of therapeutic foster caregivers when needed.
- Prepare reports including intake, risk planning, quarterly, and discharge documentation.
- Ensure youth remain connected to their culture through traditions, customs, and community involvement.
Qualifications
- Diploma/Undergraduate Degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing, and minimum two to four years related experience.
- Experience working with children, youth, and families with complex needs.
- Strong skills in crisis intervention, advocacy, and case management.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and culturally responsive care practices.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
- Must have a class 5 driver’s license and own transportation.
