As a Senior Consultant, Opinion Research , you will play a central role in delivering high-quality quantitative and qualitative research. You’ll manage day-to-day project execution, support quantitative and qualitative study design, analyze data, and translate insights into clear, compelling narratives for clients. This role is ideal for someone with a strong quantitative and analytical foundation, who is curious about people, passionate about evidence-based decision-making, and eager to grow in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Drive and support client mandates through the day-to-day execution of research projects, ensuring timelines, deliverables, and quality standards are met.
- Play a major role in proposal writing/assembly, research design, data collection, data analysis, reporting writing and preparation, including proofreading and formatting.
- Support the design of quantitative and qualitative methodologies, including surveys, recruitment screeners, discussion guides, sampling approaches, and recruitment strategies.
- Support senior team members with the day-to-day management of clients on assigned files, helping clarify needs, manage expectations, and ensure smooth coordination.
- Prepare clear, engaging client-ready deliverables, including topline reports, research reports, data summaries, charts, and presentations.
- Mentor and guide junior team members to support their development and ensure high performance.

- Operates as a fully proficient consultant, managing advanced tasks within projects or leading smaller-scale client initiatives.
- Tackles more complex client problems and provides strategic input beyond standard project execution.
- Builds trusted relationships with clients, assessing their needs and contributing to longer-term partnership opportunities.
- Supports the growth of internal capacity through mentorship and collaboration.
Areas of Focus (Research & Analysis)
- Coordinate timelines, fieldwork, vendor communication, and logistics for studies.
- Maintain strong internal communication with senior team members to ensure alignment with scope, methodology, and client needs.
- Collaborate to achieve consistency, alignment and continuous improvement in processes, work quality and effectiveness.
- Uphold high standards of accuracy, consistency, and process.
- Lead the design of quantitative and mixed-methods studies, including sampling plans, weighting strategies, questionnaire design, and experimental or quasi-experimental approaches.
- Ensure methodological rigour across surveys, trackers, segmentation studies, mixed-method studies, and qualitative approaches (e.g., focus groups, in-depth interviews, online communities).
- Advise internal teams and clients on best practices on the appropriate use of quantitative and qualitative approaches.
- Conduct and oversee advanced statistical and multivariate analyses such as: regression modeling; factor analysis; cluster/segmentation analysis; driver and key-influence analysis; trend and longitudinal analysis.
- Work confidently with large datasets and complex weighting schemes.
- Quality-check analytical outputs and ensure findings are statistically robust, defensible, and clearly explained.
Education & Experience
- Educational background
- Bachelor's degree in in social sciences, statistics, data science, and/or market and opinion research, considered an asset.; and 5-10 years of experience in opinion research, market research, public affairs research,
- Solid understanding of both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- Demonstrate expertise in advanced statistical and multivariate techniques.
- Focus group, interview moderation experience an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Demonstrates expertise in relevant focus areas and applies it to strategic client work.
- Experience with emerging research technologies including AI-assisted tools, mobile-first survey platforms, social listening tools, and digital dashboards.
- Experience contributing ideas to improve workflow efficiency, insight generation, and client storytelling.
- Produces polished, insightful, and professional content tailored to client objectives and audiences.
- Balances competing priorities and manages multiple projects or deliverables concurrently.
- Applies critical thinking to identify and address multifaceted challenges in client and project contexts.
- Develops and maintains strong, trust-based relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Strong command of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, SAS, Python, Q or equivalent), fluent in Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint etc.) and proficiency with survey platforms (Survey Monkey, Qualtrics, etc.) an asset.
- Excellent writing and storytelling skills - able to turn data into clear, concise insights. Proven ability to move seamlessly between technical analysis and strategic interpretation.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Fluency in English required; French considered an asset.
