Description
The purpose of the Quality Assurance Inspector role is to ensure the products and processes at RIMOWA are in compliance with the procedures, work instructions, specifications, drawings, and guidelines.
The Quality Assurance Inspector is trained to perform all inspections within RIMOWA plant Canada including incoming, in-process, dock audits, sorting and red rabbits.
The Quality Assurance Inspector is responsible to control non-conforming product detected in any stages of production, incoming and dock audits.
Evaluates processes randomly to ensure compliance, by using tools provided like SPC charts, inspection reports, gauges, tablets, computers, and any other required equipment.
The QAI supports with a project related to quality in addition to their inspection responsibility within the Quality Department, this project is assigned by the Quality Manager, and it is a project to support the QAI development.
The QAI is responsible to report all quality issues found to the Operations and Quality Teams.
The QAI reports to the Quality Assurance Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- To support, maintain, and improve RIMOWA’s Quality Assurance System.
- Ensure QA and RIMOWA policies and procedures are adhered to.
- Daily perform inspections at the assigned area, including incoming inspections, in-process inspections, quality gates, SPC, MSA, dock audits, red rabbits, and any other evaluations / inspections required to control and improve the quality of RIMOWA products.
- Use available and calibrated gauges (micrometer, thickness gauges, calipers, high gauges, pin gauges, feeler gauges, to-no go gauges, spectrometer, etc.), to evaluate product and ensure participation in GR&R to ensure repeatability and reproducibility as required.
- Learn and keep updated to the latest revision of the Quality Assurance System that includes all procedures, work instructions, standards, specifications, guidelines, SOP’s, and any other documentation required to perform their job.
- Effective communication with the Operations, Materials, Engineering, Quality and all other RIMOWA departments.
- Support other team members as needed.
- Participate in problem solving activities as required, team meetings and any other scheduled meeting where their input is required.
- Actively support production when defective materials are found. Control, identify, sort and report results following the control of non-conforming product procedure.
- Support the evaluation of customer complaints and implement corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Ensure all areas are clean and organized by following 5S’s.
- Responsible for one project every year for their own development.
- Any other activities required by the Quality Assurance Manager to support activities related to reduce scrap, reworks, and improve quality output.
- Duties may be subject to change as business requirements change.

Schedule: 8-hour shift – Day Shift
Supplemental pay types: Overtime pay
