Wood is recruiting for a Senior Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join its Canadian business focusing on projects across BioProducts sector.

Wood is currently seeking a highly motivated Lead I&C Engineer to join our team, preferably based in Vancouver, Canada. Other locations could be Grande Prairie or Edmonton. This role has responsibility for supporting the growth within I&C engineering and design team for our BioProducts sector as well as being a working lead on projects.

  • Reporting to the Head of Department I&C and Telecom Engineering, this role involves Leadership and mentoring within the I&C engineering and design team

  • Oversee project delivery within BioProducts for I&C to meet budget, schedule, and quality targets

  • Ensure compliance with company procedures and quality systems

  • Coordinate with project managers for efficient execution and utilization of staff

  • Coordinate and lead work with distributed teams and work-share offices

  • Monitor team performance and forecast resource needs within the business segment

  • Providing input to process for P&ID development

  • Participate in HAZOP, LOPA, and SIL reviews

  • Participate in the BioProducts leadership team to help identify and secure new project opportunities

  • Prepare and/or review and approve technical deliverables and proposals

  • Participates in project audits (quality and technical)

  • Stay current with industry standards and tools, and implement improvements

  • Promote a safety culture aligned with Wood Canada Ltd

Expected:

  • Instrumentation Technologist / Bachelors of Engineering from an accredited University or College.

  • Registered or eligible to be registered with EGBC in British Columbia and/or other provinces (PE in the U.S. is an asset)

  • At least 10 years of relevant technical industry experience

  • Strong knowledge of industry practices and codes/directives

  • Has the ability to manage multiple ongoing projects

  • Experience in AVEVA Instrumentation is an asset

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Committed to client satisfaction and team success
