Position Overview
Reporting to the Paste Plant Supervisor, the Pastefill Operator’s primary duties are to oversee the batching of quality pastefill supplied to the underground distribution system. The pastefill operator will also be accountable for monitoring and directing all activities within the pastefill system. During periods when pastefilling is not occurring, the operator will perform duties similar to those of the underground oreflow attendants.
Responsibilities:
Ensure the quality of batch pastefill as well as troubleshooting and resolving minor plant issues
Monitor and maintain operations within the paste plant
Operate a front-end loader to supply tailings and sand to the pastefill plant
Execute all responsibilities related to the movement of ore throughout the material handling infrastructure system
Monitor conveyor systems, maintain housekeeping standards, and assist team members while gaining knowledge about departmental duties
Operate auxiliary equipment as licensed or for training purposes
Actively participate in safety initiatives and programs
Conduct daily risk assessments
Ensure compliance with workplace standards and adherence to appropriate procedures
Qualifications
Previous experience with cement and/or pastefill batching is a strong asset
Experience operating a front-end loader and other auxiliary equipment is preferred
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team
Proficient in the use of hand tools
Possession of an Underground Common Core certification, with knowledge of the mining industry considered an asset
Willingness to learn and undergo training for new tasks, both underground and on the surface
Schedule: 5/5/4 with 12-hour rotating day and night shifts (Kidd Operations reserves the right to modify working schedules as necessary, in accordance with applicable notice requirements and labor regulations.)
We offer a competitive wage and bonus plan complemented by a comprehensive range of benefits. Wage will vary depending on experience, education and certification. $41.74-$44.60 hourly. Candidates must ensure that progressive, sustainable improvements within the department are consistent with business objectives and our health, safety, environmental and community policies.
